How to pack retro games for shipping

Good packing protects your games and protects the price. Crushed boxes and cracked cartridge shells lower what a game is worth.

Loose cartridges

  • Wrap each cartridge individually in bubble wrap or paper so labels don’t rub against each other.
  • Pack them snugly so nothing shifts when you shake the box.

Boxed games and manuals

  • Put boxed games in plastic sleeves or bags first to protect against moisture and scuffs.
  • Never tape directly onto a game box.
  • Use a sturdy outer box with at least two inches of padding on every side. Double-boxing is best for valuable complete copies.
  • Keep maps, inserts, and manuals with their games so nothing gets mismatched.

Before you seal it

  • Include a note with your name and email so we can match the box to your offer.
  • Take a photo of the packed box for your own records.

Selling by mail: common questions

Who pays for shipping?
We do. Once we agree on an offer range, we email you a prepaid, tracked shipping label.
How do I get paid?
Zelle, Venmo, or PayPal, after your games arrive and we confirm their condition.
What if my games aren’t what we expected?
If something arrives in different condition than the photos showed, or turns out to be a reproduction, we’ll explain what we found and give you a revised offer. If you’d rather not accept it, we’ll ship your games back to you at our cost.
Can I sell just one game?
Yes, if it’s a game worth shipping on its own, like a complete-in-box RPG. For a handful of low-value loose cartridges, shipping can cost more than the games are worth, and we’ll tell you that honestly.
Do you buy from outside the US?
Not by mail right now. We buy from sellers anywhere in the United States.
